Are antibiotics killing more than you think?

The invention of antibiotics was a massive break though for modern medicine, however there are serious side effects to antibiotics that you probably haven’t been told about so you should use them cautiously.  Azithromycin (Zithromax) is a macrolide antibiotic used in the treatment of bronchitis, pneumonia, ear infections, and sexually transmitted diseases. Even though it helps these conditions it also has unpleasant side effects such as side effects such as skin rashes, itching, allergic or anaphylactic reactions, and severe, watery diarrhea.  However there are greater side effects than those especially when taken with statins, this can result in muscle and tendon pain, weakness and cramping.  What is more worrying is that any use of any type of antibiotic increases the risk of breast cancer in women as stated by research papers.

In a recent paper they found that taking azithromycin increases your chances of dying form cardiovascular disease by 250% within the first 5 days of use, this is similar to the antibiotic vioxx, which killed 60,000 people and was removed from the market eight years ago voluntarily.

It is important to understand what antibiotics are.  They are indiscriminate bacterial agents, that means that they kill all bacteria including the beneficial bacteria to you, killing the beneficial bacteria in you digestive system not only causes digestive system problems but also affects your immune system, because a big part of your immune system resides in your digestive system.  Therefore it is important to reinoculate your gut with probiotics, and it is also important to only use antibiotics when absolutely necessary to prevent unnecessary imbalance of your digestive and immune systems.

The microbes in your gut consist of good and bad bacteria, but mostly good, these good bacteria produce nutrients such as vitamin B, protect against contaminates, and keep your yeast in check.  There are at least 100 trillion bacteria in your gut.  When antibiotics are used these bacteria get rid of the beneficial ones upsetting the natural balance, yeast then grows causing dysbiosis.  These yeast poke holes into the lining of your intestines, causing leaky gut syndrome.  This allows whole food particles to enter into your blood stream and sets up an allergic response to those foods, which is why there are so many foods sensitivities occurring these days.

This can also lead to other health issues such as:

  • Arthritis
  • Autoimmune diseases
  • Allergies
  • Asthma
  • Skin problems
  • Digestive system issues
  • Kidneys problems

Doctors quite often miss this connection between the gut, immune system and overall health and how they themselves are causing these disorders by the drugs they prescribe.  Therefore be aware of unnecessary drugs and make sure that you always take a good probiotic.

You can also be getting antibiotics through the food you eat, on the vegetables and in your meat, which are given to livestock ass preventative measures therefore always make sure you eat grass-fed organic meat as they having been given antibiotics.
